style of architure, the Presbyterian being the most expensive, costing nearly $25,000.  The Universalists, Methodists and Baptists also have churches in the place.  A number of fine residences were built the past season.  The streets are nearly all ornamented with maple shade trees, and the town wears a home-like, thriving appearance.
     The Crawford County Agricultural Society, the pioneer organization of the county, and the only one now in existence, holds a fair here on the first Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of October in each year.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

     Rev. R. L Stewart, Pastor.  Services every Sabbath at 10½ A. M., and every alternate Sabbath at 7 P. M.  Sabbath School at 9 A. M.  Prayer meeting every Wednesday evening  Also, services at Harmonsburg every alternate Sabbath at 3 P. M.

METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH.

     Rev. N. H. Holmes, Pastor.  Services every Sabbath at 11 A. M. and 7 P. M.  Sabbath School at 9 A. M.  Prayer meeting every Thursday evening.

TRINITY CHURCH, EPISCOPAL.

     Rev. S. B. Moore, Rector.  Services every Sunday at 10½ A. M. and 7 P. M.  Sunday School after morning services.

UNIVERSALIST CHURCH.

     Rev. J. H. Campbell, Pastor.  Services every Sabbath at 11 A. M. and 7 P. M.  Sabbath School after morning services.

CATHOLIC CHURCH.

     Rev. M. Tracy, Pastor. Services First and Third Sabbaths of each month at 10½ A. M.
