Pension Abstracts, p. 2005:  LANDON, Thomas, R6116, NJ Line, sol was b 19 Sep 1752 (new style) at Hardwick in Sussex Co NJ & he lived at both Hamburg & Wantage NJ during the Rev War, he appl 28 Sep 1832 at York in Livingston Co NY, a son Benjamin Landon appl 14 May 1857 at Springwater NY aged 71 & he had appl on behalf of himself & the other heirs; Sally Landon of Livingston Co NY, Daniel, Manuel & Thomas Landon, in 1843 sol was a res of Crawford Co PA & he d there 10 Aug 1850, in 1843 a son Thomas, Jr. was of Crawford Co PA & was still there in 1852, the name S.J. Lawrence who d when sol was age of 11 yrs & sol then lived near Fishkill on the North River in Dutchess Co NY & at age of 30 he moved to Renssealerville some 18 miles from Albany NY & in 1817 he moved to Crawford Co PA & he appl there 6 Oct 1832 while living with a son Joseph who was aged 48 to 50, sol d 25 Mar 1848

4. Crawford Co. Court of Quarter Sessions, April Session 1801 [Thomas L. Yoset, unpubl. ms.]:  James Long, yeoman, clerk of the general election [this may be James Long, Jr.], indicted for neglect of duties, in failing to record votes for Albert Gallatin, at the town of Meadville 14 Oct. 1800.  James Long was surety for deft. 3 April 1801.

Deeds H-1:226 (assignment from James Fitz Randolph to James Long of 100 acres in [then] Mead Twp. “for and in consideration of the settlement residence and improvements made on the within described piece or parcel of land by James Long of the Township of Mead and County of Crawford to and for my use and benefit as well as in consideration of the payment of taxes assessed on the same, all of which it appears to my satisfaction he has done,” dated 1 July 1819, rec. 10 July 1819, with Cookson Long as a witness).  The 100 acres was from the northeast corner of a tract on Woodcock Creek in Power’s District warranted to John Malbeak and purchased by James Fitz Randolph of [then] “Allegany” County on 1 Aug. 1797 from the Holland Land Co. (CCo. Deeds H-1:225 [rec. 10 July 1819]). This may be HLC Tract 169 called “Normandy”; see CCG 18(1995):61.
6. 1826-27 Pa. Laws 258 (No. 121 §1, “for the relief of sundry soldiers and widows of soldiers of the revolutionary war”), approved 13 April 1827:  James Long of Crawford Co. granted $40 immediately and $40 annuity, payable half yearly, commencing 1 Jan. 1827.

Directory, p. 121 (history of Woodcock Twp.):  “Settlements were made in 1794 by Henry Rust, from Westmoreland county, James Long, a native of Lancaster county, who died in 1830, in the 93rd year of his age, and John H. Bossard, who came from the vicinity of Greensburg, Westmoreland county.”
