4. Pioneers, p. 6 (biog.: WILLIAM DAVIS --- son of James and Eliza (Jennings) Davis, he was born near Drumquin, County Tyrone, Ireland, on May 15, 1730. Five year later he and his brother, Patrick, emigrated to America with their parents and settled in Tinicum township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  In 1757 he married Mary Means of Bucks.  They had ten children born in Tincum (sic) township: Joseph, James, William, John, Patrick, Margaret, Henry, Elizabeth, Eliza and Samuel.  William and his son, James, served in the Revoluntionary War. Afterwards, the family moved to Franklin County, Pennsylvania.  In 1795 they moved to Crawford County and settled on a farm in Mead township.&bnsp; William and Mary, along with their son, James, became active in the First Presbyterian Church.  Mary died in 1813; William passed away on September 20, 1824.  He was one of the very few in the county to own a slave.) see CCG 16(1993):86 [indentured servant Dina]
