1 The Quarter Sessions Court docket suggests that the date was 8 Oct. 1800, but final confirmation of the order establishing this and other townships apparently did not come until July 1801 (and possibly not until 13 Jan. 1803).  Tax rolls first include Rockdale Twp. in 1802, and township officers were not appointed until 5 April 1802 (Crawford County Court of Quarter Sessions Dk. 1:60).   RETURN

2 Crawford Co. Court of Quarter Sessions Dk. 1:11 (Oct. Session 1800).   RETURN

3 Crawford Co. Court of Quarter Sessions.  The court papers have been lost, and the information presented here is from a condensed report of the commission appointed to determine the new boundaries, printed in the Crawford Messenger of 26 Feb. 1829.   RETURN
