RICEVILLE
Is situated on Oil Creek, in Bloomfield township, on the U. & T. R. R., and has about 400 inhabitants. It contains two churches, one Congregational, Rev. I. D. Sammons, pastor; and one M. E., Rev. D. R. Palmer, pastor; one graded school, one hotel, two water saw mills, and one steam saw, stave and shingle mill; one grist mill, one planing mill and sash and door factory, two handle factories, one carriage shop, three blacksmith shops, one shoemaker's shop, one hard and tinware store, three paint shops, three dry goods and grocery stores, one book and drug store, an iron foundry, two physicians, and two justices of the peace.
