1806 Created from Sugar Creek Twp., Venango Co., but attached to Cherrytree Twp. for township purposes.1
Boundaries:  Beginning where the line dividing McDowells and Powers districts, crosses the South boundary of the surveys made in the sixth Donation District, thence by the same South, seventy degrees West, to intersect the North boundary of the Fifth Donation District, thence by the same Westwardly to Sugar Creek, thence up the same and the lake Branch thereof to the county line, thence by the same Northeastwardly to the North West corner of Cherry[tree] Township, thence by the same, South to the place of beginning.
1817 Organized (boundaries not necessarily the same as above)
28 Feb. 1822 Parts exchanged with Wayne Twp. [q.v.]
